Dark & Dreary Halloween

I made this card to satisfy two challenges.  One is the Pals Paper Arts challenge, and the other is the Create with Connie & Mary challenge.
Pals Paper Arts provided this sketch: 09-25
Create with Connie & Mary required these colors: CCMC322
The colors screamed Halloween so I used retired Stampin' Up! stamp sets called Dark & Dreary, and All Holidays.  I punched out the images with 1 1/4 inch square punch (also retired).  This is a simple card and didn't take long to create.

October Birthday

Hi, there!  I can't believe that I've not posted in a week.  Time flies when you are busy!
I made this card for my mother-in-law's birthday which is in early October.  I used the hostess stamp set called Bloom with Hope.  The birth flower for October is Calendula so I tried to make this flower look like that.  I stamped the flower in pumpkin pie and the leaves in old olive.  I colored them in using Prismacolor colored pencils.  I hope you can see the yellow highlights in the flowers.  I can't wait to send this off to her!

Birthday on the Open Sea

My card today was inspired by the sketch above from Freshly Made Sketches.
I used The Open Sea and Four You stamp sets.  The colors are marina mist, cajun craze, and very vanilla.
I love clean and simple cards!

Soft Thank You

This card was inspired by the Color Throwdown Challenge.  The colors I used were basic gray, pear pizzazz, marina mist, and soft sky.  I used the flower image from Love and Sympathy, and a thank you image from Another Thank You.  I used the framelits from the Apothecary Accents set and the Ovals Collection set.

Anniversary Wishes

I didn't do a challenge today, instead I am posting a card I made last month.  I made this as an anniversary card for my parents.  I got my inspiration from a card I saw on Pinterest:
Butterfly trioIt is a card done by Jenni Pauli.  Jenni's card is beautiful, and I was pleased with mine as well.

Love to Laugh

I made this card using the Techno Stamper Sketch Challenge. I used one of the quotes from the Feel Goods stamp set so I turned the sketch ninety degrees.  The colors I used were fall inspired:  Chocolate Chip and Pumpkin Pie.  The dsp was a retired piece that fit my color choice.

Coral Poppies

This card was inspired by the Mojo Monday sketch:
I used Pleasant Poppies and Hi, There stamp sets.  I colored the poppies with ink and a blender pen.  The card stock colors I used were Calypso Coral, Pear Pizzazz, and Whisper White.

Mint Chocolate - Yum!

Today's card was made for two challenges:  Less is More and Sketch Saturday.  The Less is More challenge was to use a mint and a chocolate CHOCOLATE MINT color on a clean and simple card.  Here is the Sketch Saturday challenge:
I used Stampin' Up! products for this card.  The card stock is chocolate chip and pistachio pudding.  I used stamps from the Chalk Talk stamp set and cut them out with the matching framelits set and my large oval punch.  I used the Beautiful Wings embosslit to make the two small butterflies.  The entire focal image is on dimensionals, but you can't tell from the picture.
I think this would make a nice friendship or thank you card.

Friday Sunshine

This card is my entry into the Friday Mashup Challenge.  The challenge was to use the given sketch and use the emboss resist technique.  Here's the sketch:  .  I can't remember ever using the emboss resist technique on a card, so I decided to give it a try.  I used the Stampin' Up! stamp set Feel Goods; stamped it in versa mark and embossed it in clear on Whisper White card stock.  Then I sponged the center with Daffodil Delight and the outer of the oval in Pumpkin Pie.  I hope that gives the impression of the sun.  I used the Stylish Stripes embossing folder on the Daffodil Delight card stock and wrapped it in Daffodil Delight seam binding.  I think this would make a great friendship or thank you card.

Hello in Bermuda Bay

I made this card for the CAS(E) this Sketch challenge.  I used Bermuda Bay and Whisper White for a monochromatic card.  I used the Flower Shop stamp set, and a retired stamp set for the "HELLO".  I used Bermuda Bay 1/8" taffeta ribbon, and the banner die from Label Card thinlits.  I used the argyle embossing folder and I used my brayer to ink over the design.

Blackberry Honey Crumb Cake

That title sounds like this will be about a delicious breakfast treat, but it is actually the colors in the Pals Paper Arts challenge for this week:  blackberry bliss, hello honey, and crumb cake.  I used products from Stampin' Up! including the Six Sided Sampler stamp set, the hexagon punch, and the bitty butterfly punch.  It is impossible to tell from the picture, but the whisper white layer is adhered by stampin' dimensionals, there is a hexagon punched out, and the "hello sweet friend" is adhered to the layer below.

Color Throwdown #308

Today's card was inspired by the Color Throwdown #308 challenge.  The challenge was to use melon mambo, daffodil delight, and pumpkin pie. Those three colors are very bright so I said "go big or go home!" and I chose to use the big crazy flower from Flower Shop, and the crazy greeting from Sassy Salutations.  What a fun, cheery card to make (and simple, too)!

Tuesday Morning Sketch 265

Another sketch challenge that I couldn't pass up.  Tuesday Morning Sketches gave a choice of three past sketches.

I guess you can tell which one I chose!  I used Petite Petals and Feel Goods from Stampin' Up!.  I used wild wasabi, melon mambo, basic gray, and naturals white card stock.

Two Card Challenges

I enjoy the inspiration provided by a card challenge.  It can be a sketch or it can be a color combination; it doesn't matter to me.
This card was inspired by Techno Stamper's Monday Lunchtime challenge sketch.

This is a masculine card and could be used for friendship, sympathy, or get well card. I used crumb cake, basic black, and whisper white.  The burlap ribbon added texture.  I used Stampin' Up!'s Serene Silhouettes stamp set and a retired set for the "thinking of you."

This second card was inspired by Splitcoast Stampers Color challenge.  The colors are melon mambo, wild wasabi, and basic gray. I used a retired set to create this card but it could be done with something current like the set used on the card above - Serene Silhouettes.

A Little Kindness

This is yet another card I made at my upline's house.  It uses Stampin' Up!'s Kinda Eclectic stamp set.  I can't wait to get that set!

Mojo Monday 361

Today I participated in the Mojo Monday challenge.  I used their sketch as the inspiration for my card.
I used Mixed Bunch as my stamp, stamping it first in night of navy on whisper white card stock and then again in old olive.  I punched out the middle of the old olive flower with a 1" circle punch.  The dsp is retired but I love the color combination.  The ribbon is old olive 1/8" taffeta ribbon.  I finished the inside (but forgot to take a picture) with a layer of night of navy, and a slightly smaller layer of old olive, and a strip of the larger flowers piece on the left side.
Thanks for stopping by.
